Are you asking about the Look for Work on Way Point logic? or are you talking about the NextLookForWork in the Process Flow template?

I am trying to understand the AGV process flow template, is there any existing documentation about how that works aside from the comments already in that process flow?

So at the beginning of the process flow, it's only asking you to create a loop of next look for work connections to get all cp into the network. then in the section of LookForWork Forwarding, the decide activity " how many lookforwork connections?" is making route decision based on # of Look for work connections. I have only created next look for work connection according to the instruction, but here it's asking for look for connections, so it will always go through connector 0 as no "look for work connection" has been created. So I am confused here.

Another one is AGV property, Tab of "Control Point Connections", there is both Look for work, and Next Look for work, what's the difference, very confused here as well.

Thanks,

Look for Work is a standard fifo principle. Next Look for Work is a function looking for work in shortest distance to the taskexecuter. That delays the transport sometimes in contrast to fifo.

In addition to Jorg's comment, just below the "LookForWork Forwarding" section of the AGV Process Flow Template is a short description of "Look For Work" connections, as well as some examples. For more information on using an AGV network (particularly with the Process Flow template) check out the AGV tutorials in the User Manual, especially lessons 2 and 3. Feel free to let us know if you have any more questions.

I'm also confused about the difference between LookForWork and NextLookForWork. I've gone through all the tutorials and read the info in the process flow.

Can you please take a look at the attached model? The AGVs do not pick up items from the queue. I thought the LookForWork connection would enable the AGV to "look for work" at the queues when it reached the West CP. I tried to duplicate what is described in the "LookForWork Forwarding" section of the AGV Process Template. But it doesn't work in my example.

Any help would be appreciated! If I can get this simple example to work, I should be able to get a grasp on this look for work topic.

TIA.

@Osman Eralp I think you're understanding the concept. In this case it mas a minor detail that kept the AGVs from retrieving the items. All you have to do is make the "Look for Work" connections from the Location point (at the Queue) to the LFW point (the west CP, as you referred to it), not the other way around.

Awesome! The direction of the connection was my problem. Thanks!

For the record, to me the direction for LookForWork connections seems backwards. For all the other connection types, the direction points to where the AGV needs to travel. In this case, the direction is opposite, which is non-intuitive to me. But at least I understand it now.

Thanks again.

@Osman Eralp Glad to help! I'm not sure why it is set up that way, I'll look into it.
