Creating a source of operators in FlexSim

[ FlexSim 22.0.16 ]

Merci

Hello, please comment, can we create sources of operators on FlexSim (as in the case of Simul8) and then assign to each operation a number of operators with specific skills? Thanks

In the majority of cases, you wouldn't choose to create operators dynamically in FlexSim, you would create them all in the model before running the simulation, using model parameters (example) if you want to easily change the number of operators in a given team.

In the few cases where you do really want operators created dynamically, you can use the Man and Woman flowitems (check the Flowitem Bin).

Regarding assigning operators to tasks based on specific skills, there are several ways you could approach that depending on the specifics. Could you attach your model so we can see exactly what you're trying to do?

for my model i would like to make three operator assignment scenarios1; according to line 2: according to the step and 3: complete assignment in a context of two production lines where I have to simulate these 3 scenarios

Right now in your model I see you have 2 operators, each assigned to transport from one of the sources.

You also have several processors set to call operators for the setup time, but they aren't connected to any operators, and their setup time is zero meaning no operators will be called anyway.
I don't see anything relating to specific operator skills.

Could you please explain in detail exactly what behaviour you are trying to implement, what you have tried, and where you're getting stuck?

No it's just the basic model after I have to assign an operator to each process but the idea is to have a source of operators where I have to create constraints related to the different types of operator assignment

Unfortunately this is simply not enough information for me to know how to help you.

I'm still not sure why you want a source to dynamically create operators, and I still don't know how and based on what criteria you intend to select an operator for a given task.

Hopefully someone else will understand what you want and be able to help you.

Hi @Bchiga! Just like how @Allister Wilson said in his first comment, the only way I could think how to do that would be using a dispatcher and parameters. You could set up a dispatcher (or several) in your model and connect an operator and then set up a parameter that goes from 0 to -- (however many you need). That would essentially act as a source of sorts and you could test out the different types of operators. I would check out the tutorials that Allister linked in his first comment as well. You just need to be creative and I think you can find a solution. Good luck!

Hello everyone, please can someone among you give me all the performance indicators relating to the operators

In celebration my objective is to create a group of operators where I have to put constraints for the 3 types of qualification ie that the operator must follow the entire production line or two identical positions or a total qualification ie that the operator must perform all the tasks of the two production lines

Hi,

You will find attached a model which might help you (2023_06_20 - Dispatcher example.fsm).

Each processor is S-connected to its own dispatcher, and the operators are connected to the dispatcher(s) of the processor on which they can work.

A "skill" is represented with an A-connection from a dispatcher to an operator.

You can find here (https://docs.flexsim.com/en/23.0/Reference/3DObjects/TaskExecuters/Dispatcher/Dispatcher.html#app) an explanation of the dispatcher.

I advice you to complete the 2 first tutorials on this page:

https://tutoriels.flexsim.fr/22.0/

(Or https://tutoriels.flexsim.fr/23.1/ if you update to the latest release. FlexSim 22.0 is not maintained anymore so I would advice you to upgrade to a newer version).

These 2 tutorials will teach you how to add performance indicators in a dahsboard.
