Create a POD Care Team Model in an Emergency Department

We are trying to create a care team model where all emergency department beds are divided in PODs with particular nursing staff assigned to each POD. For example, we have 15 beds, we will have 5 PODs, where the first POD will be bed 1 to 3, the second POD will be bed 4 to 6, the third POD will be bed 7 to 9, etc. Each POD will have one Nurse assigned to. When patient arrive, they will be place in on of the POD that has the lowest patient census (to level load the work for each nurse).

Can you please advise what would be the best way to model this? Thank you.

I would create different bed areas for each pod, assign the patient to the pod with the lowest census using the "Based on destination status" option in the Patient Destination field, and assign staff based on either the patient's destination or the patient's current location depending on which is applicable. I have attached an example model that does exactly this. Let me know if you have any questions.
