About Flat-Pack Workstation

Welcome to the Student Group Hub's first contest! For the first time, this is a competition so you can win prizes for winning second and third place!

In this contest, you are tasked with designing a flat-pack workstation. We want to see the most incredible, innovative, and practical workstations you can design from sheet materials and fixings.

What does flat pack mean?

Flat-pack furniture is made from sheet materials and fixings, allowing it to be stored and transported in a small box and assembled at home. Your workstation can be designed in any way you like, but it must be made of any sheet material. Commonly used sheet materials for furniture are Plywood, MDF and Chipboard, but you can use any that you choose!

What is a workstation?

A workstation is, as it sounds, a station where you can do your work. Simple workstations typically comprise a desk and some shelves, but more interesting ones often incorporate spaces for a computer, storage, lighting and more! Whatever you choose to put into your workstation, you must be able to sit at it and use your laptop to work. We would love to see innovative designs but remember that innovation does not just mean adding more storage. A creative workstation will smartly solve a problem!

Have you just started learning Autodesk software? Loads of you are starting a new academic year! Practicing with a project is the best way to learn any new software. Why not practice and learn using a project with prizes for its winners? Don’t forget that if you have questions about the software whilst learning, you can always ask questions on our forums!

To submit an entry, click on the button below, add an image/render of your design and write a few lines about how your design is innovative. If you wish to discuss the contest, you can always use the forums within the Student Group Hub!

We can’t wait to see the workstations that you all design!
