Hi everyone,

What is meaning of red colored clip name shown on the Hierarchy list of opened archive on the browser in archive module?
When trying restore a project archive, some clip names were colored red on the browser.

Hello Harada-san,

The red text means that an error was skipped while you archived these clips. The most common case is this:

1. You have some partially rendered media on a clip

2. You archive the clip

>>> The software warns you that some frames are missing, but you elect to continue (Silent Mode will do this automatically for you)

3. You restore the archive and the clips that reported errors are displayed with a red text

>>> This is something new that we have introduced in the 2018.3 Update release. There is also a log file showing all the errors generated during the archiving process.

What you can do to eliminate the red text is to open the clip and render any Timeline FX on it or to cache the media. If that doesn't fix the problem, you should contact the support team.

Please accept this as a solution if you feel your question has been answered.

I began to see this issue recently too. Some project are ok but some will encounter this red color indicator together with framestore error.
But when I restore it back, the playback was ok and nothing seemed missing. And these are timelines we presented to clients in the same day. So I wonder where are the missing media. Making me paranoid about the archive. Seeing red....

An archived timeline (from another flame) that was red with 10 layers.  Everything seemed to be there and there didn't appear to be any red clips or missing data.  I wanted to find the clip that was causing it to turn red.  So I duplicated the timeline and hid all the layers except 1. then 2 etc.   They all archived fine with no red clips....So I'm at a loss where the problem was.   I did notice that an open clip had 10 frames of tail that were "No Media".  When I archived that clip again no red.

My conclusion is that the flame that archived this timeline maybe was short memory and so some of the caches were corrupt and were missing frames?  Since the clips were not rendered before archive maybe the archive marked it as red?

The red clip mystery continues.
