Very often I have to deal with ARRI Alexa footage.
I frequently use the sequence publish to process ARRI footage to dpx, exr.. whatever.
I have a workaround using EDL.. but I was wondering.... Is there a way to modify an existing token or create a new one to be able to export the only first eight digits of the tape name?
Eg: A001C001_220526_R2YU -->A001C001

Hello Max!
I would invite you to create an General Improvement on flame feedback for this need (https://feedback.autodesk.com/key/flame)
For now, you could do the following:
-Create a new Reel Group
-Duplicate the sequence you want to edit the tape names
-Open the sequence
-Go to Conform
-Select all your events
-Edit the Tapename
-Export the sequence
Which application will you send the EDL to? I am curious since I would have expected that all editorial & finishing products in 2022 support longer than 8 characters tape name. Digital acquisition introducesd ten years ago pushed everybody to extend tape name length.
