I have Flame 2019 on a MacbookPro (2017) and it really runs great. Yours would be a generation up from mine with more cores but Flame doesn't use all the cores anyway. My graphics card has the same onboard memory but is a generation earlier, so you'll be good there. It obviously doesn't run as fast as my own z840 with K6000 at home or the 2013 MacPro dual D700 graphics (bin) that we have at work, but certainly outpaces my office iMac from a few years back in running Flame. It's obviously not great at complex batches (and a bit frustrating waiting for the motion vector maps to cache) but it runs pretty smoothly on setups up to medium complexity.

Cheers

Thanks for the response Tony. Appreciate it. Just to clarify, did you have any issues with the IP address not being static. Think I read somewhere that might cause complications.

Cheers in advance.

Its not a problem, you can manually set your IP to be static in the wireless settings on your mac..

I used to have problems on that count with the pre-redesigned Smoke 2012 back in the day(ish) but since quite some time ago I've never had issues with my laptop in terms of wiretap issues and losing contact with framestore, files, etc. I never have to go for static IP. Very very occasionally I've had an issue, but nothing I can get to the bottom of. I move around a lot with my laptop and Flame works just as it does on my home z840, 'cept for the aforementioned obvious slower nature of the hardware. Used in on planes, trains and abroad on all sorts of wifi. No probs to worry over pour moi.

Cheers
