My company has tasked me with writing a validation tool to warn artists when they are about to export a master plate from the wrong bit depth (for example the clip is 8 bit, but we want to ensure everything is 16bit). The only way I can think of is using the export hooks, but that doesn't appear to have access to the information about the items getting exported. Also, looking at the api documentation, there aren't any methods to read this kind of information from objects, so for instance, if I was to get the selected clips and get items that way.
Is there a way to achieve getting the bit depth of the input using the export hooks?
