Best way to Re-Link files?

So I had a huge project.  Archive was over 5tb and the media folder was about 3tb.  It was softlinked to my project folder.  We took it off my system a few months ago because we were running out of space for other jobs.  We now need to restore it to do some more work.  When we went back to the LTOs the assistant that copied my media folder over didn't double check it and the only thing that was in there was a few color corrected scenes.  Because we put dates in all the folders we will never remember them and its not going to link back up.

Is it possible to point to the whole project folder instead of each individual folder to relink once we re-copy all the media back over?  Will it look through the subfolders?

Yeah, the conform tool will dig through subfolders.  Not always the best way to go, because it can be time consuming, but it sounds like in your case it will save loads of effort!

You mean your assistant 'copied my media folder over' is when creating Archive from Media Library? Or it's all media in your Project Folder in your system?

Yes it will look trough subfolders but make sure the original source folders still has the same filenames & directory structures.

But i'm not sure if Flame can use the same rendered files / cached media from archive (if any) with the re-linked media. As the symlink to it's metadata might break. I dont know. So this would be another extra time to re-render it.

If you had succeed re-link all your media, share with us your steps, it might useful for others 🙂
