Anyone ever had BATCH suddenly vanish - all nodes *disappear* inexplicably mid session - with zero undo facility - last saved desktop & project reload with *no nodes* - BATCH is completely empty - it’s happened quite a number of times & bizarrely, exiting Flame & reloading the most recently saved desktop/project still opens with an *empty* BATCH - nothing in BATCH schematic - doesn’t make any sense - is this a glitch &/or can it be fixed &/or what am I doing wrong?!
PS A BATCH file still exists in the Flame folder, but is either corrupted &/or an empty file, or Flame no longer loads BATCH to the project.
Other projects load with BATCH nodes intact, but are an irrelevance, given the work lost in the relevant project…

Hi @mattHM8WS,
For this situation, before relaunching Flame and re-opening the project it will be good to make a copy of your project metadata first to preserve any possible backup that you can restore from. Project metadata is saved in /opt/Autodesk/clip/stonefsX/<project_name>.prj and _AUTOBACKUP.
Depending on how you save your Batch Setup, there are few ways to try to recover the previous state of the project/setup. If you saved your setup, you can try to reload it from /opt/Autodesk/project/<project_name>/batch/flame. If you did not, you may try to restore the previous state of the Library or Workspace where it is located. For detailed steps, you may refer to the article below:

I hope this helps.

Jeff
Hi! Jeff,
Thanks - I’ve been pointed towards the article suggested before, however, as the project hasn’t been archived, being something I’m currently working on, and still has a file BATCH file in the BATCH project folder, the article doesn’t seem to have a solution to BATCH files randomly disappearing during a Flame session, with no undo, plus a blank BATCH environment on restarting Flame & loading the last saved version of the desktop/project.
No apparent crash occurs, when all BATCH environment nodes vanish, so there’s no report to send to AutoDesk - no error log to submit - it’s happened quite a few times & needs a solution, as it’s pretty much a case of starting the 28 tutorial AutoDesk introduction on YouTube again, from scratch, to re-establish the lost BATCH node set-up, which can be lost again at any point with zero warning - it’s just nuts…
Without someone from tech support to investigate Flame on my iMac remotely, I don’t see how the cause of this recurring issue can be resolved - as I’m learning & on an educational licence, AutoDesk won’t permit tech support to help - looks like a no win situation.
Hi @mattHM8WS,
I'm so sorry to hear that. I understand your frustration. For us to investigate and try to find what might have caused this issue, could you please gather the log using the script below and send it to us here:
Open your terminal and enter this command:
sudo /opt/Autodesk/flame_2020/bin/ftpuploadlogs
Once we have the logs, let's determine the next steps.
Regards,
Jeff
Hi! Jeff,
A friend working in the UK post production industry has arranged to look at what’s going on remotely too, at some point this morning - in a event that his attempt to resolve this is unsuccessful, I’ll attempt running the terminal script to retrieve the logs.
Thanks for offering to help - if things are resolved I’ll post later on today - 12.04.22.
Matt
