Hi Jacob,

Thanks for your contribution to Autodesk Forum.

I have tried to generate a 4-axis die toolpath on the tapered pockets. The default curve generation using IFR within FeatureCAM was not suitable to generate a good toolpath. Hence I modified the surface in PowerShape and copied its curves in FeatureCAM to generate a 4-axis toolpath. Can you please go through the attached fm file and let me know if it helps?

Regarding Cutting data tab, refer a product help for more information:  Cutting Data tab.

Thank You.

Hi @abhishek.juvekar,

Thanks for the help, but can you make a video how you do that?

In this pocket there are some issues between surface and toolpath.

Hi @Anonymous,

I created simple  4-axis features using IFR (Extract with feature recognition). Refer a video.

I have tried to generate Upper and Lower curves of the complex surface using PowerShape and copied them back to FeatureCAM. Then created a 4-axis die feature using curves, instead of IFR.

If the results are not satisfying due to the curves are not matched as you want, then you can manually match the two curves. Refer Match Curves dialog (WIRE) in feature properties to know how to match curves.

Thank You.
