Tool holder extensions

I was wondering how other people deal with having tooling extensions in machine simulation. I have an ER32 axial milling holder in our turret, but in order to access the feature I have to use an ER11 collet extension. Do I have to model the the milling holder and ER11 collet extension is there another way?

The easiest thing would be to just add it in the tool dimensions as the shank, and adjust the exposed length accordingly. Furthermore, as you mentioned, if you have a custom holder model, you could add an extruded cylinder to account for it as well.
