Tool crib merging and mutiple post files.

I'm having two issues that I haven't found a good way to deal with.    I run a Doosan and an Okuma daily.  Each has their own post.

Currently on Featurecam Ultimate 2022.

Issue 1.  Is there any way to link a post to a part so that switching back and forth it chooses the correct post?

Issue 2. Goes along with this,  and I don't even know how to explain it.  It seems like my tool cribs are merging?  I have to clear my cribs out almost monthly due to duplicate tools etc showing up.    I guess as a sub question is there a way to completely turn off automatic tool selection?  It just seems to take up more time to correct it.

Thank you

Bruce

For your first question you can use this add-in. It saves the post with each project. Go to the add-ins tab and click manage. FeatureCAM has a bunch of different add-ins that come with the software. Just type save in the search at the top and it will show up.

For the second question I'm not sure if I understand the issue.

Thank you, that's wonderful.

As for the second issue.

What I think is happening, from what I understand about the cribs, is that any override tool is saved.  So any old document I open automatically adds those tools to the current crib?   If I open an old file for say the Doosan, but I already have a doc opened for the Okuma what seems to happen is all those Doosan tools are somehow now in the Okuma crib also, and vice versa.  I thought at first the flipping back and forth somehow merged them.

Is there like a "best practices for crib management" somewhere?

Hopefully that is clearer.

Is automatic tool selection able to be turned off completely?

Thank you

Bruce

I use "Use the tool crib saved with the part document"

In the FeatureCAM Options / File / Existing Files

This will prevent the issues you are having.

You can't really turn it off as that's the core functionality of FeatureCAM. Try bhorstTGM48's solution and see if that works for you. If not, maybe post some pictures to better understand the issue.
