Suddenly not able to calculate tapping speeds/feeds.

Opened the file I was working on yesterday, all of the sudden every tap cycle is 0/0.  Nothing has changed, I saved the file, closed out, shut down, went home and came in today.

This kind of thing happens a lot.  I have another post about tool crib weirdness.    I use the "save tools with document" feature and I think it's something due to that.

I think it's a permission thing ( 20+  years in IT before I came to CNC) but I'm not sure with what exactly since it works 85% of the time .

It's both metric and imperial taps.  Even if I add new ones to this crib same thing, 0 and 0.  Any thoughts?

Thanks

Bruce

I had a similar issue the other day.  Somehow my stock material had changed, and I didn't have tools created for the stock material that was showing.  I changed the stock mat'l back to aluminum for what I was working on and it went back to showing my feeds and speeds for each tool.  Hope this helps.

Well that was sort of it, thanks for the tip!

It seems now there are individual materials per document, which I verified is not set.   ( I have "use the tool crib saved with the part document" checked, and "Use the f/s tables from FC's database" is unchecked.)  This part was done as "Tool Steel - A2", but when I checked after reading your post its set to "Tool Steel - A2 from 'current filename', which makes no sense.

Between this, the crib issues in my other post, recent parts do not always show up in "recent", and a few other things still make me think there is a permission issue somewhere.

Thanks for the help
