Spindle will not show during 3-D Simulation

I'm programming a 5-axis part and I need to simulate the spindle to check for coalition's.  I have it checked in the options to show the spindle and I have selected the correct spindle in the spindles and holder options but it will not show up.  I am running FC 2022 and it is updated to the current patch.  Is anyone else having this problem?  Any comments would be great.

Hi @shawn6R83D

I've struggled to understand this same issue in the past.  The only sense I can make out of it, is that you can only view the spindle and the holder in simulation if you use one that has been defined with parameters.  If you try and use a custom shaped holder (by curve or solid), then the spindle does not show.

Pretty sure I reported this in the past already to development.

To get around this, you could just model a spindle on the back of your holders as part of the solid or curve.

Thank you so much for the reply.  It sure would be nice to get this issue fixed.  My crib has all kinds of custom form tools and imported tool holders.  Very disappointing that this issue hasn't been addressed yet.

Hi @shawn6R83D

I agree.  My suggestion is for you to report it directly to Autodesk development.  This forum is a community thing and Autodesk employees are not mandated to use it for items like this.

The best way to express this it through an Autodesk support case.  If you are on maintenance, you can do this through your account.

To do this, log into your Account.  Then:

  1. Once you are logged in, press the black question mark at the bottom right of the screen
  2. Choose the option Post Purchase Support
  3. Then, choose Help Using My Software
  4. Choose FeatureCAM Products from the dropdown
  5. Place a reason as to why you need help.  Put in something like "Issue with 3d simulation"
  6. Once you press the search, there will be some general help articles, but you will want to press the "All other customers" at the bottom of the page.

Once you get to that point, just fill in all of the information about what you are experiencing with FeatureCAM.  That should generate a case number and you will get a response that someone will contact you.  You should get contacted in a day or so.

They should then create an internal task to development, since it does look to be a bug with the software.

Hope this helps.  If you have any more questions regarding this, let me know and I'll do my best to help.
