Hello, I am using Featurecam 2020, When i change programs the post processor does not change, I have to manually change it to the correct one, is there a way to make the post processor stay with the part number?

This is a great question. I have been dealing with this since we bought a new high speed CNC mill a couple of years ago. Inevitably it will change all my feeds and speeds to my new machines parameters of 60,000rpm vs. my old Haas machines that can only do 7,500rpms max. If I don't catch it well you can guess what the consequences are.

Go into your addins click the manage button, library button, scroll down to utilities, and pick save post with docs, click the load button. That should be it

You either need someone with administrator rights (most likely problem). Or you may be able to log in as administrator. right click desktop icon click run as administrator. If this is blocked you have no choice but to get whom ever set up the program or computer or your IT guy to let you into it so you can make the changes you need and/or want. So you can do your job more efficiently. There are lots of things in the library that are very helpful. go through all of them and carefully read what they do and if they will help you.

This sounds like one for the applications engineers then. Something isn't working the way it should. I'm surprised none of them have chimed in on this.

Kevin, thank you for your help. I have another question, in 2020 i am trying to mill out a simple pocket but i need the tool at say 45 degrees, when i program the pocket featurecam comes back and says the pocket must lie in the X and Y plane. I assume that means the tool must be perp to the bottom surface. is there a way to have the tool at a 45 angle to machine a pocket?
