Patterns and macro output

I have a threadmilling output ( absolute)  inside a pattern.   I would program this manually using and "incremental" subroutine for the machining   calling the subroutine at each point of the pattern.   The help pages do mention macros within patterns but I see no macro options in the pattern strategy  in Featurecam.   Anybody have any information or any clue how to set this up?    Outputting this in absolute is not elegant although it would work. Shorter code is preferrable.

Yes this is possible.

What type of pattern (linear, points list, etc.) are you trying to use?

Thanks for your response.   The problem I appear to   have is I am not getting the option of a strategy in the Pattern feature.

Any ideas ?

strategy in the pattern feature is only available for linear, point list, and rectangular. Radially in XY plane cannot have an incremental macro.

Are you trying to thread mill a bolt circle?

Can you upload the file so we can take a look?

You want an incremental for hole 1 in setup 3? There is only one hole correct?

not really in this case  but other occasions I will want more instances.  This is just the file I am working on currently.

New to FC  just trying to iron things out.

If you want a pattern a thread mill with incremental macros, it's better to use the thread mill feature rather than hole then thread mill. Hole feature doesn't have the pattern strategy. I guess is that this is because the "hole" feature was intended just for drill and tapping. Z in then Z out moves. Having incremental option isn't really necessary.

If you want incremental moves inside macros, it's best to "make a pattern from this feature" and then use linear, rectangular, or points list. If you're having trouble, post on here. We're happy to help.
