PartMaker, Renumbering Process ID

Happy new year to everyone! Does anybody know if it is possible to renumber the Process IDs for Processes after reordering them in the Process Table?

My post is configured to output a block number at the beginning of an operation which is derived from this numeric parameter. This makes searching for specific operations at the NC easier but if I reorder the processes, the block numbers are no longer in numerical order. Any ideas??

I always thought about it. Simply load into the machine was automatically renumbered in the machine. Furthermore, there are in Windows the App Code Writer, with which you can also renumber. Hope could give suggestions. Please test and report.

Hatte ich auch immer bedenken. Einfach in die Maschine laden, wurde automatisch in der Maschine neu nummeriert. Desweiteren gibt es in Windows die App Code Writer, mit der kann man auch neu nummerieren. Hoffe konnte Anregungen geben. Teste und berichte bitte.

Why not have your post altered so that the N number works with a counter instead of the Process number.

I know that my lathe post works this way.

Hi Jason,

you cannot renumber the process table ID numbers.

However if you can send us your files we should be able to do a post mod that will renumber the processes for the sequence numbers in the code.

Thanks to all of you for the replies, I think I will alter my post as you suggested to use the sequence numbers instead of the process id numbers. Phil, could you perhaps elaborate how PartMaker comes up with the sequence numbers pertaining to canned cycles? I use them quite extensively and don't want to run into any conflicts there. When I post a program with turning canned cycles the first one might be, for example, N40 to N60 then the next one is N110 to N130 and by the end of the program I'm in the thousands, Is there a multiplier for every canned cycle or something?

The <seq> is incremented for every line output by PartMaker. Does not matter is you output the <seq> or not. Does that help?
