I think it depends on what machine you have. I use Partmaker mainly because our machine Citizen M32 is not supported by FeatureCam.
Id be very interested to find out if Feature cam will ever support the M32 as there seems to be a lot more online support for FeatureCam.
Hi,
I'm pretty sure there are postprocesser for Citizen M32 in Autodesk Librery
Thank you,
Jacob
Really,
Im gunna have to find some time to go through everything, At the moment I have full machine simulation with partmaker, do you think this is available in FeatureCam for the M32?
As for the postprocessor we have spent a lot of time and effort on the partmaker post to get it somewhere near workable so before going to deep with FeatureCam I would have to make sure its worth the extra effort. The simulation does look better in FeatureCam
Hi,
Yes that's really, but I haven't experience with the swiss machine. I don't know how complite the postprocesser is.
I know there are some simulation files.
Can you share a picture of your machine simulation?
Thank you,
Jacob
jacob, we are working with citizen k16 and citizen L20, mostly running basic parts stainless 303 and Titanium 6al-4v. im in the beginning stage so i was wondering which one is the preference i should my focus to. i have notice there is more tutorials for Partmaker then Featurecam swiss
Hi,
If it basic and simple parts then I think you should prefer your focus on FeatureCAM. There I think you get the gold first, FC is easy to use no matter you use it for turning, milling or swiss.
If you can share an example on a part of the shop, then I would try to make a video to you so you can see the flow, If i can:-)
Thank you,
Jacob
Hi,
Thank you,
Can you help me a little, would this be the right place to set ZERO?
https://www.screencast.com/t/qrlvzrwel07D
Can you give me a short description how you would handle this?
Can you mill from 2 side at the same time?
Thank you,
Jacob
Hi,
Sorry for the delay. But here is a short video there shows some functionalities in FeatureCAM, hope you can used it.
Thank you,
Jacob
Hi,
Great too hear:-) And I haven't experience with swiss machine to tell whats you should use.
Thanks,
Jacob
Partmaker is really easy to use. I taught myself, and my programs are just as good as the guys who have been programming for some time. I come from a milling background using mastercam but I think Partmaker has a lot of good functionality and I plan to make some tutorials for it. I have not had the time to learn Featurecam and there are not many good tutorials on the web. I found the Partmaker tutorials on a Instructables.com which is owned by autodesk oddly enough. But they come with the models and are really easy to follow. Also the post is written in xml and easily configurable. Partmaker also had great assistance from my experience I have had some screencast with them.
