I posted once before regarding feed optimization, but I did not get many responses. I am looking for people who use feed optimization on a regular basis, and I'd like to see what data you use to get good results. Do you use horsepower calculators like ones that Kennametal and SGS offer on their websites, or do you just let featurecam use the HP suggested by the material? I really do like the way in which optimization adjusts the feed rate, especially when working with STL files, but if the HP is incorrect, the feed rate is not going to be correct. I'd like to see how the software is accounting for chip thickness. Any thoughts?
