Ref Support CaseNo:12297994
The flex license resides on a server & Contains 2 FeatureCAM (and multiple PowerMILL) standard & premium licenses.
Multiple users require access to both licenses.
To achieve this the premium version needs to be installed.
This will create a shortcut that will run the Premium license.
However is the user then decide to run in standard mode both licences are taken.
In order to resolve this issue.
The attached .bat file was created the run the desired regedit (changes registry to use standard or premium license) & fire FeatureCAM.
This allow the user to open the desired level of FeatureCAM
The works but I do not like the users modifying the registry & in some cases user do not have the necessary rights to edit the registry key.
Please can an alternative safer method be investigated.
Hi @Matthew.Tolner,
You are indeed correct by saying that you need to change the registry to alter which license you are using. There is actually a batch file that is distributed with the software that allows you do do this. However, this will probably work in exactly the same way that yours does.
The FeatureCAM development team are investigating a possible alternative, the suggestion is something simular to that of the other manufacturing products in our portfolio, such as PowerMILL or PowerShape.
Please refer to the following Autodesk Knoweldge Network (AKN) article for more infomation. Change Tier on Network Lisenses
Hope this helps,
Spencer
Do you possibly have an update on this?
I have 8 users sharing 7 licenses and need an easy way for them to launch without having to change any settings.
Thanks
