in version 2023 I do not export the stl file correctly with the "save simulation results" function ... while in version 2022 the same file exports correctly ...

Where is trochoidal grooving and boring? How about feed optimization for mill turns?

We don't want to use 360, we want FeatureCam to have regular feature updates!

Maybe time to look elsewhere.

It is not apparent what was updated in Featurecam. Link still not working.

The web sign-on licensing is an ease of use improvement I like vs when we had to maintain a floating key server, but at the cost that we no longer own software and pay yearly fees.  And I do like that the releases are stable (we rely on all the FeatureCAM POST automations so that stability is vip). Is there a roadmap for new features in Featurecam? Or should we just expect minor bug fixes, icon tweaks, and licensing changes going forward (as has been the case for roughly 2 years)?

I appreciate it is VERY difficult to merge the best of Fusion 360 and best of FeatureCAM. I'm not even sure it is possible. We're doing a lot with sophisticated FeatureCAM POST automation & 5-axis moves, so can't simply abandon that. Yet the ancient FeatureCAM drawing tools would benefit greatly from the power of Fusion 360 drawing/modelling tools.

Anyway, please post a working link about what was improved in FC 2023.  And think about what features could be added to benefit a broader set of FeatureCAM users.  -Thank you, Ben

Thank you, that helps. Being able to import the latest solid model file formats should be helpful.

Specifically, we do have MBD requirements coming down from our customers, so we'll be trying the new STEP version 242 import capability in FC 2023.

FeatureCAM is going nowhere. It is a dead legacy product that Autodeath is stringing along until they can force everyone to Fusion360.

My advice, get out now. Switch to a software that is still actually being improved and actively supported.

There has been no significant, or even mediocre, feature improvement in at least five years. Only bug fixes and how they get your money, (licensing). They switched to subscription, because they knew people were not going to continue to pay thousands of dollars every year for a couple of bug fixes that only effect <1% of users.

I recently found out they will only support perpetual license software for 2 years, then you will be on your own.

FeatureCAM started its slow cruel death the minute Autodeath bought out DELCAM. A sad sad day.

I'm really bummed about this. I have used FeatureCAM for 23 years. They could have simply updated the UI a little and given us some simple productivity tools to help with the work flow, and don't get me started on the 30 year old sketch tools.

I am not willing to continue to spend almost $4000/year in the hope that I am wrong about all this, to ultimately find out I was right.

Good luck to you all!

It seems impossible to purchase FeatureCAM for fusion 360 in Sweden, what should I do? Lukas.VanDerMerwe@swede-wheel.se
