EDM question

My company has a Sodick AQ550L EDM that uses a 3.5 floppy disk to load programs using .DXF files.

Is it possible to program with FeatureCam and convert to a .DXF file to load in the machine? I have never

programmed before so I have no clue about some of this stuff. I can save an Autocad file to.DXF and get

the machine to read it then program at the machine terminal but my company wants to program with FeatureCam

or similar software if possible. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi @dswopesGUTUQ,

Welcome to Autodesk Community!

In FeatureCAM, you can import .DXF file and you will have to generate toolpath. After that you can generate the nc code, by selecting suitable post-processor for your machine. Please refer the link from help in which there are topics about the basics of creating wire EDM toolpaths. http://help.autodesk.com/view/FCAM/2018/ENU//?guid=GUID-4B1A7C91-2C0C-4079-920C-3B39A03AB3DD

Hope this helps.

Thank You.
