A-axis NC Code not Generated

When generating NC code to cut flats on a cylindrical part, we suspect A-axis coding is not generated. When viewing simulation, A-axis movements are shown. Additionally, if the NC code is loaded into our Haas VF-4 and the program is ran the machine will not move the 4th axis. We think that the NC coding is not being generated for A-axis movement. What are some reasons why the rotation occurs during simulation, but doesn't occur when running the program?

It sounds like your post processor is not setup for 4th axis output.

Hi @travis.register.7

When you are simulating inside FeatureCAM, the system does not check the post processor ability.

So it can simulate a 5 axis toolpath, with a 3 axis post selected.

As long as we don't try to output nc code, it can work.

This is slightly different for the turn mill simulation and features creation.

Then FeatureCAM will check if the post is capable, or not (live tool enabled, C, Y , B axis availability....)

Cheers.
