2-d surface milling depth

I am trying to surface mill a tube like feature. I would like to rough out one half then flip it over to Rough out the other side. The problem I have is when I am trying to surface mill my end mill goes down past the half way point leaving to little stock to securely hold onto the piece. How do I set how far down it try’s to surface mill the round.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to Autodesk Community.

Surface milling machines the part up to the stock given. However, there is an option to limit the toolpath in Z. Go to Z level > rough1 > Milling and enter a value for Z end.

Online Help says "Z end — Enter the distance along the Z axis below which the operation does not mill."

Hope this helps. If my post answers your question, please click on Accept as solution button.

Thank You.
