Would like the ability to deplay the DWG overlay in the Inventor drawing.
Also would like to able to create dimensions relative to the dwg overlay.
I believe this is a key feature missing from the factory design suite. This would allow me to present one drawing file that contains all the 2D and 3D representations.
It would be nice if we could measure from the 2D Overlay to 3D Faces or generally measure in the 2D overlay in Inventor. So actually you need to use Inventor and AutoCAD at the same time side by side.

Because the important dimensions refer to customer's items, like walls, columns or somthing like that !
By selecting a connector in the browser while in the Asset Builder, the color gets selectable. However, it doesn't stick to it if the asset is published or the AB is closed.
I see huge value in different colored connectors to ease up the progress of making layouts. Many different people are making layouts in my company, but usually none of them are making the assets.
Then an extra step might be taken and we can only connect blue+blue, green+green, yellow+yellow etc.
Currently, only assets will snap to a 2D drawing overlay in a factory layout. We need the ability to snap to that overlay during other functions as well such as sketching or just taking measurments. This is VERY frustrating not having this ability.
Move company policies prevent users from storing important files such as the Factory Design Suite Asset libraries on local un-backed up drives. More importantly this does not allow the sharing of these libraries amongst other users. There needs to be a means to install the asset libraries to a shared network drive or even better the Inventor content center or Vault.
It is imperative that this need to be done in the near future.
When publishing FDS Assets, the dwg blocks created are set to allow explode in AutoCAD. Why not set them to NO so that the bi-directional work flow is not broken so easily by poor Acad practice. An experienced user can reset this function if needed in the block editor.
We have discovered that while trying to make an asset, there is no way to use an existing asset in the creation of another. Assets should be accessible when creating assemblies not just when creating a factory layout. Many times we need to have assemblies that contain standard assets but we still need to be able to change those assets once they have been inserted. Right now you get an error that says that part contains a factory layout and cannot be used to make an asset. (see attached) This is because the only way to see the asset was to create a layout to insert it into.
i´m testing the labs tool Process Simulation 360 and i think it is a great tool and easy to use. But i don´t know the meaning of MTTR and MTBF and there is no discription.
And now my idea:
Create my layout in ACAD Architecture and put in all of my material flow, product and so on. Export an XML or something else and load it in this new labs tool. In Process Simulation 360 i want to check out if my layout can reach my output or what happen if my processor is faster, slower or stops for 2 hours because of a crash in the maschine.
A nice to have: All operations and stations are in Process Simulation 360 from my ACAD layout export.

A customer at the Munich Summit 2011 would like to generate 2D views and multi sections on multi floor factory buildings including the face of the building for detail dimensioning. This is important for any factories for many customers.
