Please please please please fix the Plugin so it doesn't overwrite my keyboard customizations all the time.
The default setup is ridiculous. I want to draw a Circle in a sketch. In plain Inventor I press C and I'm ready to go. In FDS Inventor I have to Press C + Enter...
It's the same with T for text and C for constrain and on and on and on... oh and F for fillet. Why are Facebook and Twitter even options in there?
I understand why you may want to set them initially, but in no way should a plugin EVER override the settings a user has implemented with in the UI.
This has driven me nuts for 3 years now... my only regret is it's taken this long to post it on the Ideastation.... I have however brought it up for the last 3 years during the beta and this sillyness is still in the product... I mean come on, Facebook and Twitter shortcuts from within a Sketch? I would have loved to have been in the room when that idea was suggested. Bonkers.
My sarcasm is justified when you consider how much of a pain this is on a daily basis. Please fix this ASAP.
I am working on document factory layouts in the Inventor drawing environment, but have hit a snag. The drawing environment is great for creating my plan, iso and side views, but I don't seem to be able to bring the Asset Tags (haven't tried Descriptors yet) into the drawing environment. Can we add this functionality into the drawing environment to save time having to relabel the components? This could either be placed near the asset, like in the AutoCAD sync'd file, a property in a text box pull down or even something that could be placed into a parts list. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Hope all is well and have a most blessed day!
Watching users struggle trying to find how to turn these panels on.... adding some toggle buttons to the bottom of the Inventor UI (similar to AutoCAD, see attached) would help tremendously.
We use a lot of piping functions and we need to do a lot of measuring. Unfortunately Piping will not work clearly if distance is not precise by all decimals. So we need to construct helping lines to measure the precise distance. It will be easier to copy distande from delta measure if there are all decimals.
In Navisworks, we are given the ability to "Walk" or "Fly" through a model. Can this be added to inventor as an option? In some places this would be helpful when dealing with expansive models. I think the perspective mode would have to be fixed so you don't get stuck in the center of the model when you zoom in too much.
In my company we deal with a lot of large conveyor systems. We use roller and belt conveyors. As of right now I am patterning cylinders in my assets to show rollers but with so many in a model it would be really nice if I could have a surface treatment that looked like rollers without the additional weight of the rollers themselves.
