Expose connectors for self-created (sub)assemblies

I know about the existing sub-layout buttons, but they do not work for me since I want 3D assets only, no AutoCad etc.

I propose to allow users to expose and use connectors between layouts and sub-layouts. Even if they are not created from the top level Factory Layout. The user experience should be as if a sub-layout was an asset itself.

This would enable me to have templates for sub-layouts, split up big layouts and I could potentially work with multiple people on a Factory project. This would be a big time saver from performance and project planning perspectives.

This functionality could work great with the new function to insert multiple assets at once.

Hi There,

Could you possibly be the customer that commented on the Help page several days ago?

If you are, we received your comment but cannot reach to you as no contact information. I did recorded this screencast if you would like to watch a little bit. I explained how this function worked. If you have more questions, you could either post here or email me.

Hi There,

You could ask your sub-layout designers to expose all the connectors they would like you to use in top-layout, with our Expose function. And when you place the sub-layouts into your top layout, make sure you are using factory Insert Model function:

The expose function is indeed what solves my problem. It works without the factory insert model as well for me.
