Better replace with asset

The replace with asset function in the Feature Pack is nice but it doesnt improve the workflow pretty much if the connectors doesnt reconnect. It would be nice if Connectors reconnect using their names. When you replace an asset it is mostly with anything similar and the connector points use the same names.

Hi all,

I got a workaround to this issue. Hope that will be helpful to you when you are using Replace Asset in FDS.

After you finish the Replace Assets,

• you can Sync AutoCAD and open the DWG in AutoCAD;
• then you can Sync Invnetor from AutoCAD;
• all of the connector connect are reconnected(make sure "Infer Connectors option is checked in Invetor factory>-Factory Options").

The function is avaiable in FDS 2017 R2(aka 2017.2 Update). The new option is added in the Replace with Asset dialog. Subscription users can get the English version of FDS 2017 R2. The localization version of the build will be available soon.
