unable to "Open in Inventor"

getting this message when I select the "Open in Inventor" button.

"The template file you're trying to open doesn't exist. Please check or reset the Factory layout template in the Factory Options and try again."

Using AutoCAD Mechanical 2022 with Inventor Professional 2022.

Would this Restore Defaults work for you in Inventor Factory Options?

No when I click that it doesn't give me the option to apply any changes so I assume I am already set to defaults

would you please navigate to that folder and find if that template is there?

And if you are using one localized version of Inventor but another localized version of FDU, that could cause the mismatch in template folder. As you can see it is targeting an "en-us" folder.

I browsed to that folder and the templates are not there. I reinstalled FDU 2022 and they are still not there.

Are we installing a localized language of Inventor or FDU?

%PUBLICDOCUMENTS%\Autodesk\Inventor 2022\Templates\en-US\StandardFactoryLayout.iam

As you can see the folder points to a "en-us" folder. Are you seeing other folders in:

%PUBLICDOCUMENTS%\Autodesk\Inventor 2022\Templates\

That's strange, would you please search C:\ drive to find if we have "StandardFactoryLayout.iam" installed somewhere?

Are we using a default project file or customer project file? And the template folder is targeting where?

It shows up in my 2020 folder and my 2021 folder but not my 2022 folder

It should be in a folder C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2022\Templates\en-US

Would you please try to uninstall and install FDU to see if the file is created? Thank you.

will do. FYI I am not the admin of my PC. Also, some standard folders like desktop, my documents, downloads etc are re-routed to C:\Users\nstalker\OneDrive instead of the usual locations per company policy. Just letting you know in case this gives you any insight into the problem. I will update this thread once I get IT to uninstall and reinstall.
