All,
Good morning! As I'm building up Factory Assets in Vault, I'm realizing that I may want to come back to a previous version and make that the library asset that everyone is pulling from Vault. Is there a recommended way to do that with the Factory Assets? In normal Vault, with Inventor I know that I can check out a previous model version and check it back in, which makes it the most current version again. However, the Vault assets appear to be a little bit different. Is there a recommended way to update those? The last time I tried to check out an asset, it was a disaster, see here. Just want to make sure that I get it right. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Hope all is well and have a most blessed day!
Peace,
Pete
Hi Peter,
I currently have no environment handy, but I will try and check to get more details on this.
Which version are you on?
THanks
Hi Pete,
Thanks for posting your issue here.
"Revert" command is not support by Factory Vault Asset directly.
Here is a way for you to "revert" factory asset to previous version.
0. Open vault professional client
1. Select the "Factory Asset" Tab on the left
2. Select the asset you want to revert.
3. Select the ".faf" file in the "content" tab
4. Right click the ".faf" file and click "Go To Folder"
5. Select the target ".faf" file
6. Select the "content" tab
7. Check on the "Show all versions"
8. Right click the previous version you want to revert
9. Select the "Get", get this version to local
10. Right click again, and select "Go to Working folder"
11. Rename the .faf file, change the extension from ".faf" to ".zip"
12. unzip the ".zip" file, and copy all files
13. Back to asset browser, and select the target asset (from the vault folder), right click and select "Explore"
14. Paste the copied file into the explored folder
15. Back to asset browser, and select "Refresh" button
16. Right click the target asset, and click "edit" (you will notice the asset revert to target version on the local)
17. Click the "save" button directly
Done.
Hope it helps. Let me know, if you still have issue.
Thanks
Kenny
