Non-rectangular shape for sub-layout selection

We have a need of a prospect that wants to use Factory Design Suite for furniture layout in office spaces and houses. Therefore we would to have a selection methode for sub-layouts creation that follows a single room shape on a floor plan which is not always a rectangle. Is there a way to create FDS sub-layouts of separate rooms only, no matter what shape?

For FDS 2012 we only support rectangle selection for sublayout creation.

Thanks for this feedback - this seems like a needed workflow.  I will add it as a request for future development.
