Inventor is not opening from Architecture

Hello everyone,

1st of all, hope everyone is alright,

In ACA, I want to create a mockup factory, to open afterwards in Inventor, but guess what:

Factory "design" utilities isn't working in ACA neither opens Inventor ( the _FACT_OpenInventor appairs in the command bar but nothing happens)

Also the pallets/browser of the factory assets does not open.

Attached to this post are 2 print-screens:

IMG_1 - Autodesk installed programs;
IMG_2 - ACA "dummy" project where you can see the commands active (but it does not work)

Does this has anything to do with the adress of the intallers? or any thing that i did to install the ACA and Factory utilities?

Is there any installing procedure? (that i probably didn't follow) for example: 1st-Inventor, 2nd ACA, 3rd-Factory utilities.

Best of health and regards,

The first I'd try is to uninstall and reinstall FDU for ACAD and Inventor

Hi @cjuliao ,

How about the commands in Inventor? Are Factory commands working in Inventor? Thank you.

Hmmmm
Check your license in the "? | About ACAD/Inventor menu" - what type of license do you have?
I am grasping at straws here

Both (ACA and Inventor)

Type: Commercial

Term: Time expandible

Experiation date: None

if your grasping straws imagine me.

Do you think the best way is to reinstall everything, again?

Hi @cjuliao ,

There should be another license for Factory Design Utilities inside the license page. Please wait a little bit after excuting the Factory command. And see if this license comes up in that license page. For both Inventor and ACA, there should be 2 license listed in this page. 1 for Inventor/ACA, 1 for FDU.

Hi @cjuliao ,

In License Manager, there should be two products listed:

MickeyLi_0-1588897101458.pngMickeyLi_0-1588897101458.png

Is the Factory Design Utilities listed after excuting Factory Commands?

Thank you,

In ACA

It doens't popup nothing related to FDU after a while (when i clicked on all the FDU buttons)

What more information or testing do you need to help to filter the problem?

Hi @cjuliao ,

Thank you for your understanding. I think we have located the casue of this issue. The FDU license check might have been taking long time, and it seems the commands are not responding.

  1. Would you please try on your machine, Launch ACA, new a dwg, and Click one of the Factory commands, then go have a cup of coffee. after 10 minutes lets see if the commands excutes.
  2. After step 1, go to folder: (replace *username* with current user name) zip up what's inside and send back to here. (or send to [email protected])
    C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Web Services\Log

Thank you very much.

Please try to reset the FDU license with below command line
"%CommonProgramFiles(x86)%\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\helper\AdskLicensingInstHelper.exe" change --prod_key p03L1 --prod_ver 2020.0.0.F --lic_method ""
Then to see if you see the license Let's Get Start dialog when you use FDU functions.

Hi Mr. Kevin,

I did what you told me to do, what happend is the following:

I oppened the AdskLicensingInstHelper.exe and it oppened some sort of command-console window (with a black background) but it closed very quicky. No time to write something down.

I even tried opening it with "executing with administrator access", the same thing, it closed very quicky.

Should i reinstall all 3 of the programs? (Inventor, ACA and FDU)

Best regards

Hi, please first start the command prompt console (Start -> Run -> input "CMD"), then copy that command line in it and run.

Hi @cjuliao ,

Just to confirm, do you have "Factory Design Utilites 2020.1.1 - Inventor/AutoCAD Factory" installed in your iinstalled updates? I am asking because we once had an issue where standard user for the machine cannot access Factory commands. But we fixed in 2020.1.1
