Inventor assembly (not inserted as an asset) shows dashed lines in a factory layout

I can understand if the assembly shown is created as an asset and the BoM structure shows Referenced parts as dashed (is that inventor working as designed?

However, If the assembly is just assembled in a Layout ( not as an asset), the components still show dashed or partly shown in 2D ACAD.

If the same assembly is opened as normal with "referenced" components, it shows fine.

Is this a factory Design issue?

Best practice is to use assets when synching, anything else can produce unwanted results, so use whatever workflow gives you the closest result
