Hi,
I am currently working with LIDAR data and FDS. So far, everything works fine, still I need to ask how to get the ReCap data´ zero points saved in the same manner Inventor or Navisworks uses them.
For now, the exported pointcloud shows a 1.60 meter offset off the ground level after importing the 57 file in Unreal.
Did I miss to zero in this in in ReCap right or is it just like that and the zero level is a different one when imported to Inventor. I used "insert at origin point" for a setting in Inventor and it checks out perfectly with the remainder of the factory layout. The problem I deal with are the zero coordinates that are mismatched in Unreal. Two coordinates are right, so it´ not a big deal, yet I´ rather have a matching coordinate system in the way I get when using OBJ or FBX files. These I can place to all zero coordinates and they match perfectly.
Is there a way to get the right origin or even better, can I export the factory layout as a whole? Is there a way using Max for example?
I can easily use helper objects to position everything too, but I´d rather like to see this done in one step.
Kind regards
Daniel
Ah... I just figured I just have to use a manual zero setting in ReCAP to match all the coordinate systems in the right manner. Also I had to disable the centering option in Unreal.
Still exporting the completed factory layout is much more desireable. Usually I export all the sub assemblies as obj files and put them together in Unreal. Can this be done?
Thanks for your time still
