Asset Optimization

I am having trouble with creating and running an asset. This asset is currently designed in a way which is more optimized to run faster inside an assembly, more specifically a factory assembly. This model was made as a part, having several solids and modifications inside the part itself. The solids are modified and turned on/off through the use of the factory parameters as well as ilogic, and the ilogic has excel integrated into it.

The loading issues come when bringing the asset inside of the factory assembly. This also happens significantly when changing the variant of the asset, as well as when updating the model after changing the parameters, inside of factory parameters.

My question is what are some things to look out for when trying to optimize the performance of assets? The geometry has already been simplified as far as the model allows while having necessary details. Apart from this and other strategies in ilogic, what are some other things that would affect/make the asset faster when implementing it inside of a factory assembly.

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Can you share your asset so we can study what is causing the issues?

I experienced the same with parametric Excel driven parts inside of parametric, Excel driven assemblies and sub assemblies. Turning off the view rep errors that popped up every now and then somehow helped the model not to stall.

Also the order I triggered the rules in made a difference compared to runing a rule that defined the order the remaining rules needed to run in even if it was the same order the manual run triggered. In the end the project was scrapped because the logic to feed it was to complicated. No other person was able to feed the values in the required form and we tried many.

Don´t know if this helps, but I want to see the part/ assembly you´re concerned with too 😄
