This is a 100% must have feature. I have to pay £100 per yer per machine for a 3rd party addon which is not that good but faster than doing it by hand. we need a re-number tool in Revit like the one in fabrication for Autocad.
@Anonymous IMO this should be an inherent part of the software and not require anyone to write their own program or purchase something from another software company.
Should definitely be part of Revit. But for now, I’ve been using DiRoots for free, they have the reordering tool that lets you do it pretty smoothly for free!
This proposal has been put forward since 2017 and has no progress till now. There are many ways to acomplish this goal but I still suggest that Revit should has a open-box solution for fabrication parts renumbring, so that users don't need to compare which addin it better or learn how to use Dynamo, which is now I'm facing when teach others how to use fabrication parts in Revit.
Unfortunately, when asking Autodesk directly about adding features in Revit that were already available in Fabrication CADmep/AutoCAD, they said they were just a "platform" software and they are leaving it to other companies to fill in the gaps. If you're up for some data that supports this, see my "idea" on the idea station by following the link below.
