Prompt for length??

Hi CADmep users,
I am new to CADmep and wondering what the Prompt for Length does? 


It would be great if you share your knowledge also if you recommend the tutorial material too for a beginner like me.

All duct fittings and straights have a default length set in within the button of the specification. This tick box prompts the user to specify the desired length when inserting a part. I would personally leave it switched off.

Do you mean this default value? or another place that I can set the default value for the length in a button property??
