MEP Force Conference - San Antonio / Aug 26-28.

FYI...

If you've previously went to Autodesk's MEP and Structural Fabricator's Forum in Las Vegas, you should consider attending Applied Software's "MEP Force" conference.

Last year, Autodesk dropped the MEP Fabricators conference for the "Connect and Construct" summit. It was an ok event but it lacked the specific detail for MEP forms using Autodesk Fabrication. That's where MEP Force is a good alternative.

After some hesitation, I went last year and found that my trip was paid for with information I received networking with other attendees the night before the conference at the hotel in the lobby.

Hope to see some of you there as the networking with users is what benefits me the most. You don't need to be an Applied Software customer to attend.

Dyoung,

How much of it was just an eVolve sales pitch?

imo, all the classes that were run by applied felt like it. I got the most out of the classes taught by other contractors.

Imagine if 50% of the AU classes were led by Autodesk employees.

Did you submit a proposal to teach @ MEP Force?

It's a lot more customer led sessions this year than last. Their goal was 100% customer led. However, that requires customers to step up.

I don't focus on the classes, most of the value I get from any conference is mingling with the other people.

As for AU, Autodesk has gotten their customers to do the selling in many cases. Too many "software enthusiasts" IMO that are selling Autodesk software to themselves.

I understand the reasoning behind these comments. However, we want the conference to be a success and we have to fill in the gaps if we can't get other industry leaders to step up. We are very proud of how many people are doing that this year and Darren offered to host more sessions than anyone else (Thanks Darren!). As for eVolve, this is not the focus of the conference, but it is one of the technologies supporting Revit Fabrication so we will continue to include it in our session topics. As Darren stated, we have lots of sessions so there is plenty of others to attend if eVolve isn't a product you're interested in. We hope to see you there.
