TL;DR, in CADmep (2016+), does the right click menu "Import -> Import Run of Items" tool actually work still, or is this broken?
To facilitate transfers of information between Revit, CADmep, and CAMduct, we've made use of the text based export and import format. For example, if you are in CADmep and type EXPORTJOB, you'll receive a text file that can be pulled into CAMduct via File-Import-CAD/JCM Items. It will re-create what was in CAD. The value to this is that, if you know some programming, you can design other applications to export text files like these as well.
With Revit 2016, we were having some difficulties with the MAJ creation tool. But when we started mapping Revit data to text files and importing them, the result was much more reliable. However, the only way to double check our work if we do not have CAMduct (Detailers) would be to either review the text file, or in AutoCAD we could pull up the right click menu, CADmep menu, import-import run of items.
Except that the import run of items tool doesn't actually render anything. It goes through it like it does when opening this with CAM, but after it's done, there's nothing in the CAD drawing.
