GUID For Own Database

GUID For Own Database

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I'm having trouble generating a GUID to allow Revit 2017 to read my own database in Fabrication 2017.

To generate the GUID I log in as an administrator, access the database and create the GUID, save and close. However, when I go back in the GUID is no longer populated. Obviously, the database isn't listed in Revit.

There is an error message when I log on as administrator, however, when I cancel the dialogue window, it still gives me access. I get the same message when closing the database.

I have attached a screenshot of the message.

The issue obviously lies with the error message and therefore an internal IT issue. But has anyone else seen this error message before?

Hi David,

This could be either a permissions problem or the file has a lock on it, which can sometimes happen.  Try searching the location mentioned in the error message, and look for a file called Notches.loc.  If its there delete it.
