Every time I use the command fill between 2 ends with Victaulic pipe in AutoCAD it adds welded pipe not Victaulic. How do I fix this?

Hello @Laurice.bergman

Thank you for your post and welcome to the community!

In order to effectively troubleshoot your question can you please do the following?

Can you send me the service or .IEZ file and the sample drawing in question.  I have included a breakdown on how to export the .IEZ file for your review.

Once I have this, I will be able to effectively troubleshoot your question and get you going again.

Thank you and I look forward to your thoughts!

Hi @Laurice.bergman

Thank you for your response.  I did not see any attachments from you, can you please try and resend?

It is possible that the file you are trying to send may be to big, in any case you are also welcome to send me a private message with those files.

If that does not work, you may also try to upload your files here - How to attach large files to Support Requests

Thanks and I look forward to seeing what you send me!

Hello @Laurice.bergman

I received you .IEZ file, thanks for sending that to me.  Something went wrong however with the .IEZ file you sent.

Can you please send me a sample DWG with your trouble items in the file and only send me the service in use.

To be clear, what I am looking for is:

Sample DWG with the incompleted filled end or elbow

.IEZ file with only the content you reference per your forum post

Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to seeing what you send me!

Hi @Laurice.bergman

Thank you for the dwg I appreciate that greatly!  I was not able to locate the .IEZ file however.  I did receive the .IEZ you sent earlier but for some reason your export did not send the data that we were looking for.

In order to troubleshoot we need the HWS and STEAM .IEZ from the BUMLER - Hydronic service.  You can do this by typing exportsys into Fabrication CADmep and selecting BUMLER, refer to screen shot below.

When you did this last time, did you get any errors when you exported your service?  The service definition we received had no buttons for us to choose from as it typically should.

Thank you and I look forward to your thoughts!

Hi @Laurice.bergman

I took a look at the .IEZ file you sent my way and it looks like your export was successful!  Thanks for doing that and being patient.

I am going to touch base with my experts and reach out to you next week with our thoughts or if we need to obtain any additional information from you.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Hi @Laurice.bergman

I have an update for you, my experts and I have reviewed the files you sent us and I have the following guidance to offer you.

The reason you are getting welded connections when using FILL2ENDS command is that in your service setup you have a conflicting tabs that do not play nicely with one another if using Autodesk fill commands.

service setup.png

There are a couple ways that your error can be avoided.

When modeling Vic components right click on the welded tab and select Exclude from fill, and the opposite if modeling Weld components, right click on the Vic tab and select Exclude from fill

You can create a service for HWS that would just be for Vic, for example HWS_Vic and create another service that has Soldered and Welded content labeled HWS_S&W , this way the two services do not get confused

You can also complete your design using the Lego approach, grab buttons or items on the left and build you design piece by piece.

So long story short, the reason your commands are not working, is the content that is included in your service does not play nicely with one another when using automated Fabrication CADmep commands.
