ESTmep - Can I export a database (costs etc) and items so someone else can use it for estimating ductwork?

First up, I've never used this program myself other than looking at the database/costing etc to start to get my head around it. I've been given the task of working out what's needed to be able to contract out some of our estimating of duckwork manufacture to another company who uses this program. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

We manufacture ductwork etc, but the estimating can be very time consuming and we want to contract some of it out.

From what I can understand so far, for someone else to estimate for us they'd need:

- A copy of our items and their names such a ductwork, spiggots, corner pieces etc.

- A copy of our database with costings for labour and materials, including all our suppliers etc.

Are these two things able to be exported as files someone else can import into their license of ESTmep so that when they estimate a job, they are using the same items/names and costings as us?

I suppose the other question is, are all your items/names and the database of costings tied to the program alone? Or if we started a new project and saved it with nothing else added, would opening that project in another copy of ESTmap include all of our items and costings within the file? If so, then I'm assuming we could save a blank project as a template they can use.

Hoping someone can help!

Thanks

I would copy the whole database, zip it up and give it to them. You don't need to include the Projects.

You could find a way for them to access your database but without knowing more about your setup, it could be problematic.

as mathew says you can just send them the entire database which is separate from the software.

standard place where this is located on your pc as below -
