Under "Electrical Containment" I only see options for Basket, Ladder, Tray, and Trunking.  Does this program not have the ability to model conduit and fittings?

Hi rmiranda,

I understand you are looking for a way to model conduit in Fabrication CADmep.

If you enter the FOLDERS command, you can easily navigate the available item folders. Open the following folder locations for available electrical equipment:

  • Item Folders > Imperial Content > Electrical > Generic > Systems
OR
  • Item Folders > Imperial Content > zMasters > Electrical > Equipment
One option for conduit is in the Equipment folder (underzMasters) titled "CID3108 - Cable".

If you are using Design Line mode to insert the item, be sure change the line mode from 'Normal' to 'Flex Filled' by holding the left click to access the dropdown. It should now operate as expected.

Note: You can also change an existing design line's style to Flexible if needed:
In design line options, click Line > Edit > (choose desired sections) > Right Click > Style > Flexible > Fill in 3D

If you download and use the object in the attached .iez:
(See attached .iez file for Conduit service download)
There are some adjustable parameters that can be changed to break down the conduit sections when drawing design lines using conduit.
  1. Right click the conduit button and choose Edit
  2. Under the Options tab:
    • Adjust the "Bend Radius" to change the default radius at bends
    • Adjust the "Max Length" to change the maximum length of each section allowed
Click the following Screencast showing the proper workflow of creating a design line and adjustable settings > Conduit Design Line
