Dear Sir / Madam

One of our clients needs to look at HVCA Ductwork and I advised them to download DWG TRueView & Object Enabler (I have given all the correct links to the client for their convenience).

They got back to me stating that the drawing does not open showing ductwork, so I installed the same said software on an test machine in the office and they are correct, ductwork does not show.

I have attached a screen capture of the error message that appears.

Can anyone help?

Hi Aaron,

Thank you for your question and for contributing to the Autodesk Community Forums!

I understand you are unable to see some HVAC ductwork utilizing and experiencing an error while opening a Fabrication dwg in Autodesk® DWG TrueView™. The probably cause for this is the Fabrication CADmep Object Enabler dbx file does not load properly in DWG TrueView™.

To resolve the issue perform the following steps in DWG TrueView:

  • Access the DWG TrueView options (NOTE: an open drawing is required to access the options)
    • Right-click in the command bar at the bottom of the screen > Options
    • OR
    • Click the DWG TrueView button in the upper left corner > Options
  • In the "Files" tab, expand "Support File Search Path"
  • Click "Add..."
  • Click "Browse..." and navigate to the DBX folder of the Object Enabler installation:

            C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Fabrication <version>\CADmep\DBX

            - Where <version> refers to the installed Object Enabler version

  • Click "OK" to add the path
  • Click "OK" in the Options dialog
  • Close and restart DWG TrueView

Hi Jarrett,

I have the exact same issue as noted by Aaron but when I load the object enabler I still come up with the error.  I have loaded to the DBX folder which

contains the cadmep21_x64 file but I still come up with an error on restart. Would be grateful for any additional tips.  I have also attached a couple of screenshots of the error and loading of the object.

Thanks,

-Rich

I did get it to work with TrueView 2015 and CADmep 2015 but no luck with the 2017 versions.
