Create New CadMEP Database/Configuration to use in Revit

Ok, I've been looking at things all day trying to wrap my head around this.
I have not found 1 resource out there that talks about creating a brand new Database/Configuration to use in Revit.

I just completed 2 courses in Revit and I was looking at practicing at home waiting for new classes to start. I wanted to start my own database/ Configuration that contains the mechanical/plumbing services with manufacturer specific parts.

Right now I have the Charlotte PVC DWV pipe and fitting .rfa files, but have no idea on how to create the database/configuration using those.

I have CadMEP installed also and can open my database I copied from Imperial content, but editing it isn't making any sense either. Where are the Service groups getting pulled from? How do you add a part to the existing part pool under a specific group?

I wanted to start from scratch so I can learn the steps from the ground up. But man, resources are very limited for this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have got to say, this is a very sad thing.
I have spent the last 20 hours looking for ways to create a database from scratch. When I couldn't find information on how to do that, I looked at ways for just updating the database and adding individual pieces of material. This information is pretty scarce also.

Some of the methods I found for just adding a part to an existing database were very convoluted, hard to understand and so far, really haven't worked for me.

My last avenue is to actually make every single piece of a manufacturers line by hand in CadMep just to be able to use brand specific and model specific parts.

I find it utterly impossible to understand how there isn't any information out there on the workflow for creating a database from scratch and a decent guide/tutorial on adding specific parts to an existing database using manufacturers .rfa files.

Again, if anyone can lend a hand, it would be much appreciated!
