I am so glad that i am member of this great forum.
we are sheet metal duct manufacturer, all our customers provide us with the duct layers in 2D autoCad file.
Can i import this file to fabrication CADmep and automatically convert it to the CADmep models? i mean,recognize each duct piece (like straight duct, elbow or Tee) with the correct dimensions?
Or should i trace that file piece by piece?
we want to do this because there are a lot of human mistakes involved in doing all these dimensions manually , so i am thinking that the fabrication process should be as following:
2D AutoCad file from the customer -> import to Fabrication CADmep -> takeoff to CAMduct
am i right? did i mess something?
by the way , we are using Fabrication CADmep 2018, and CAMduct 2018
