Design is a superpower. CAD is a tool in a superheroes belt.
We need tooled-up superheroes to save us, so we need our students to go to the dojo and master these tools. But how?
Curriculum design is a hot topic in education at the moment. A curriculum is the progression model. Its mastery is progress. When it comes to progress, the burden is on the curriculum. So I argue we need a CAD specifc curriculum, not just a bunch of tutorial videos.
If you are reading this then it is probably safe to assume that you are a CAD enthusiast and have mastered some skills. What might not be clear in your memory though is how you learned CAD; perhaps you are entirely self-taught, maybe you had a teacher or lecturer who provided a spark or possibly you worked it all out by trial and error (and the occasional visit to a forum begging for help). In this multi-part post we will explore some pedagogical approaches.
