This is exactly correct in the context of text in footprints which will end up on the PCB silkscreen. If you use the fixed/proportional font then when your PCB comes back the silk screen will likely not match what you expect with a mismatch of sizes, overlapping text etc. Simply just use the vector font in the PCB always.

Because whoever was in charge of making that decision clearly didn't grasp the ramifications of using the other font types in the PCB. It was and still is a terrible design choice to continue to use other fonts for footprints in the built in libraries and even more frustratingly the IPC package generator. I for one am sick of having to manually fix the fonts for everything I generate using it...
