Student Licensing Runaround and Confusion

Does the student license for EAGLE come with board size limitations? I have been on the runaround with the support team which seems to be very confused by what I'm asking. I have been told multiple things and I read in a prior forum post that I should have the premium version without limitations. I was actually redirected by support to this forum, where I was essentially told that I should have come here in the first place and that they couldn't answer my question. Pretty disheartening and confusing after around 10 emails back and forth. Hope to finally figure what I'm actually supposed to have access to as a student soon. I've attached a screenshot of the start screen for Eagle which only shows that I have the free version. Also, there is no mention of EAGLE on my account page, also attached. I signed up for the account at students.autodesk.com.

Hi Campb822,

Thank you for participating and I apologize for the inconveniences you have had to endure. As a student you are entitled to the Premium edition of EAGLE which means 16 layers, unlimited board size, and 999 schematic sheets/design.

You mention that you registered for the student account already, how long ago did you do that? If it was today, give it a few hours for the entitlement to go through the system.

If you don't see anything by tomorrow please reach out again and I'll escalate the issue.

 I have the same problem, but at this point I might aswell learn kiCad. Maybe they do have proper support.

Thanks for your participation. Please send me a direct message with your Autodesk e-mail account and I'll see if you have your entitlement. If you do have your license entitlement then things will be easy. If it hasn't been processed then I'll contact the installation and licensing team so that they can look into it.

I've never known any other EDA firm have as much access to tech support staff as EAGLE. You rarely have to wait more thana few hours before Jorge or Ed respond, not to mention the support from the community both on here and on the original NNTP forums / EAGLE Central / Element14. Good luck with KiCAD, though I'm not sure you'll get better support but it's your choice.

I also failed because I do not press this..

Hi Jorge,

 

I'm having the same problem, my teacher told me I could use EAGLE without any restriction in board size but when i click "Get access" nothing happens, it returns to the same page and i cannot use more length in my board.

I wanted to know if I have entitlement, I will wait some more time if it hasn't been processed.

Hi 4326SHJYG,

We really appreciate your participation on the EAGLE forum. The student version of EAGLE matches the capabilities of the Premium version. There are times that after registering as a Student, the entitlement might take a while to activate.  Login to your manage account and see if the EAGLE entitlement has been added. If you don't see it in the next 24 hours, it best to click on the "?" at the top right corner and create a case. Our friends at this appropriate department will take action.
